Dr. Yaroslaw Stawnychy DDS, FAGD, 75, of Rutherford passed away on December 24, 2016 surrounded by his devoted family. Born in Stryj, Ukraine to Mychajlo and Luba (nee Vynnytsky), and came to the US in 1950. He graduated NYU Dental School and practiced dentistry in Rutherford for over 30 years. He also taught new generations of dentists in Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. He was a member of Ukrainian Plast Scouting in the Chervona Kalyna Fraternity and was a Fellow at the Academy of General Dentistry.
Yaroslaw is survived by his Beloved wife Olga (nee Paluch), his loving son Michael and his wife Laura and his brother Vladimir Artymyshyn and wife Lydia (nee Prokop) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren.
Funeral Wednesday Dec. 28th, 8:30 am from the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home 19 Lincoln Ave. Rutherford, followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Service in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church 217 President St. Passaic, NJ. Interment Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery 141 Sarah Wells Trail, Campbell Hall, New York.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 27th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Parastas will be at 7:30pm.
