Obituary for Rose Jean Cervino

Rose Jean Cervino, 95, of Wayne, NJ, passed away on Friday, March 3rd, 2017. Born in Paterson to Joseph and Mary (nee Mania) Agnello. Rose and her husband Patrick moved to Wayne in 1962 where he and Rose remained. She was a devoted long time Parishioner and contributor to Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church in Wayne.
Rose had a long career with various Newspapers. However, she was employed the longest with The New York Times in the Rights and Royalties / Permission Dept. for 40 years, before retiring at 80 years old. Rose was a well traveled and spirited woman who loved to live life to the fullest.. She enjoyed going to Casino’s and playing the slot machines in A.C. & Las Vegas.. She also enjoyed Bingo and sports; Rose was a huge Jets and Yankees fan. She loved going to parties and having a good time with her friends and family. Rose shared a special closeness and bond with her sister Ann for their entire lives, they lived next door to each other and were two sisters who did "everything" together. Rose also had a passion for the family dogs, Sparky & Chloe.

Rose is predeceased by her husband Patrick (1998). She will be deeply missed by her devoted daughter, Marilyn and her husband Dave Woodhull and her beloved sister, Ann DeRitter. She is predeceased by her brother-in-law John DeRitter and nephew Joseph DeRitter.

Family will receive friends Sunday 3 to 7 pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Funeral Monday 10am from Funeral Home for 11am Mass of Christian Liturgy in Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church, Wayne, followed by Interment in Holy Sepulchre, Totowa.
