Obituary for Shashikant D. Patel

Shashikant D. Patel was born in Nadiad, India in 1943. Similar to generations of immigrants, he came to the United States hoping to build a better life for himself and his family. His hard work and sacrifice enabled his children to graduate from college and enjoy fruitful lives.

His famous words, “Aruna” will live on forever. Aruna is his beloved wife and was his constant companion for fifty-one years. She was his breath and his precious grandchildren (Anjali, Nirali, Ayan and Rohan) were his heart.

The great American poet, Maya Angelou said, “[P]eople will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Shashikant will be lovingly remembered for how much he cared for his family and friends.
