Obituary for Charles Edward ""Chick"" Thomsen

Charles Edward Thomsen, “Chick", 78, a lifetime resident of North Bergen, passed away at home on Thursday, 11/15/18. Chick was born in North Bergen to Charles and Edna (nee Donnelly) Thomsen.
As a young man he proudly served in the United States Navy. After his return from the Service, he became a U.S. Postal worker in Bulk Distribution for the Jersey City Post Office, retiring after 44 years when he was 64 yrs. old. He was a member of the Palisades Park Elk Club for 20 years. Chick had always enjoyed fishing, picking horses, his man cave, playing cards with his friends, and watching the Giants and Mets games. He also loved to read, solve jigsaw puzzles and especially spend time in his garden.
Chick will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Christine, his children Lisa Thomsen and Michael Thomsen whom Chick affectionately referred to as his “Chicklets”, Michael's wife Tori, his grandchildren Haylie and Ryan, his siblings Irene Thomsen and Carol Engelhardt and his little cat “Poopie”.

Family will receive friends Sunday from 2pm to 4pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford.
Funeral on Monday, all to gather 10am for Prayer Service in the First Presbyterian Church of Rutherford, One East Passaic Avenue, Rutherford. Rev. Peter Wilkinson, Pastor, officiating.
Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Humane Society of Bergen County or the Wounded Warrior Project.
Pre-addressed envelopes will be available in our lobby for your convenience.
