Obituary for Ramzi A. Khalifa


Ramzi A. Khalifa, 76, of Rutherford, NJ passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Monday, July 17, 2017. He was born in Cairo, Egypt, where he attended the University of Cairo and graduated with a degree in engineering. In 1969 Ramzi immigrated to the United States and resided in Brooklyn, NY where he continued his career as an engineer and as an executive. Shortly after he met and married the love of his life, Amanda. They moved to Rutherford in 1974, where they raised three children and remained until present.
Ramzi obtained an M.S. in Engineering and an M.S. in Computer Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He worked as the Chief Engineer/Engineering Manager at Edson Tool and Manufacturing in Belleville, NJ, then as Director, Manufacturing Automation at Industrial Acoustics Company in Bronx, NY, until he retired in 2003. Ramzi served as a board member for the Metal Stamping Association. He held patents for a self‐locking device for outdoor enclosures and for a ceiling panel assembly. Ramzi enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, and the NY Yankees.
Ramzi will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Amanda Khalifa, his loving children, Magda Khalifa, Sherif Khalifa and his wife Maria, Sonia Shane and her husband Matthew, and his five grandchildren, Adia, Liam, Olivia, Grayson, and Wyatt.
Ramzi was buried in Laurel Grove Memorial Cemetery in Totowa, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to a charity of your choice.
