Obituary for Edward Ziek

Edward James Ziek passed away peacefully during an afternoon nap at home on November 17th, 2017. He was 70 years young.
Born on September 14th, 1947 in Malone, NY to Edward and Jean Ziek, Ted graduated from St. Mary's High School in Rutherford and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Wisconsin State University. He served with distinction in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, earning two Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars, one Bronze Star with V Device, and more. Spanning his corporate career, Ted worked at King Features Syndicate until starting Savant Services, a consulting firm based in New York City.
He was a generous man who loved telling stories, learning new things and spending time with his grandchildren. Ted was an American hero who will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Chiara Lopes Ziek; his son , Paul Edward Ziek; his three grandchildren, Paul, Marguerite and Nolan Ziek. He also leaves behind his sister, Kristine Ziek and his two brothers, Roy and Thomas Ziek. He is predeceased by his brother, Paul Ziek.
At Ted's request, a private family Service will be held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in New Jersey.
Condolences may be given through Memorial gifts to the Vietnam Veterans of America.
Ed is at Peace.
