Obituary for Jerome M. Lipiec

Jerome "Jerry" M. Lipiec
October 12, 1945 - May 17, 2019

Jerome "Jerry" Lipiec passed away on Friday May 17, 2019 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he was the third child of C. Matthew Lipiec and Evelyn J. Scavona Lipiec. Jerry attended Texas A & M University and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded a First Oak Leaf Cluster, a Bronze Star, and a Second Oak Leaf Cluster for his service.
He later, took over as president of Salem Manufacturing Corp. in Lower Manhattan, a tool and die firm his father founded in 1943. It was in New York City, that he met the love of his life, Rae, at the bar she owned across the street from his firm. He quickly became a regular, drinking beer, and keeping an eye on Rae's two young daughters while she ran the bar. Rae and Jerry were married on August 25, 1978 and celebrated over 40 years of love and happiness. Jerry was a hard working and devoted family man. He enjoyed excellent food- especially desserts, traveling to Thailand and cruising. He was a certified scuba diver and loved to swim and snorkel. He had a love of gardening, westerns, and all things John Wayne. One of his favorite places to visit was Atlantic City, New Jersey.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by two daughters, Lily Yee (Steven) of Whippany NJ, Katherine Ross (David) of Hasbrouck Heights NJ, two grandchildren, Matthew and Rebecca Yee. He also leaves his sisters and brothers: Margaret Neufeld (Dave) and Ann Bravo (Felix), Chester M. Lipiec (Mary), and Richard M. Lipiec as well as beloved nieces and nephews, Tracy, Gregory, Windy, Cloudy Ann, Matthew, Karen and a great niece, Peyton.

A celebration of his life will be held at Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford on Thursday May 23, 2019 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral Friday gathering in FH at 10am for 11am Prayer service Pastor Sarah Cairacti, officiating. Private Cremation.
