Rita M. Malavasi (nee Gearity) Aunt Rita, 104, of Rutherford, formerly of Union City, passed away at her home on Saturday, October 26, 2019.
She was born in NYC to Timothy Gearity and Sophie (nee Liedenheimer) in 1915.
As of young women, Rita was Secretary for an Engineering Company in NYC. She was very artistic and enjoyed sewing in her spare time.
She also had a love for cats.
Rita is predeceased by her husband Anthony. She is survived by her nephews Tim and his wife Carol, Brian and his wife Anna, John Pavlovich husband of niece, the late Susan Pavlovich, great nieces and nephews; Jason, Garrett, Brett, Caitlin, Heather, Jennifer, great-great nephew Tyler and her wonderful caregiver and friend Famidha.
Rita is pre-deceased by her siblings; Tim, Nora and Gerard.

Family will receive friends Wednesday 10am to 11am. A Religious Service will he held at 11am in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave. Rutherford.
Entombment in George Washington Memorial Park Mausoleum, Paramus.
